Electroslag remelting furnace is used for remelting and refining steel produced by ordinary smelting methods. The electroslag furnace transformer is power supply of electroslag furnace transformer which produces aviation steel, high temperature alloy, resistance gold, precision alloy, some non-ferrous metals, large quality alloy ingot, large flat ingot or slab and other special shaped casting. There is no reactor in electroslag furnace transformer. The arc furnace transformer used in electroslag metallurgy and arc steelmaking are different, when arc slagging is made by electrodes adding auxiliary steel cuttings directly, there is only arc in the beginning stage.
When the slagging is completed, it is transformed into an electroslag process that produces virtually no arc and this process will continue to the end of smelting. In this process, the transformer of the electroslag furnace power supply needs low no-load voltage and small impedance voltage. Electroslag furnace transformers need regulating series in low voltage and there are three ways to regulat: 1. Non-load, non-excitation voltage regulation. 2. Non-load, on-excitation voltage regulation. 3. On-load voltage regulation. And no matter which way to regulate the voltage is through the switch on the high voltage winding.
